This session explores the work of Robert Gober through his uncanny and personal response to the AIDS crisis in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Using familiar imagery such as playpens, drains, sinks, and legs, Gober dislocates these objects' everyday meaning and functions in order to address themes such as sexuality, religion, and identity politics.
