Stop-motion filming is a feature of this early film, one of the first to be projected on screen after being made for kinetoscope use.

A sensational and much imitated film in its day, May Irwin and John C. Rice recreated a scene from the play The Widow Jones in which they appeared.

Enoch Arden [extant reels: conclusion]. 1915. USA. Directed by William Christy Cabanne. 16mm. 30 min.

Supervised by D. W. Griffith. With Lillian Gish. Although Griffith did not direct his third version of the story based on the Tennyson poem, his influence is felt in every shot.
