This introductory hand-papermaking workshop invites participants to use a range of cut-out techniques as the basis for original paper compositions. Led by Amy Jacobs, Studio Collaborator and Education Manager at Dieu Donné Papermill, this workshop introduces Matisse’s cut-outs and uses recent work by contemporary artists Jessica Stockholder, Kate Shepherd, Jim Hodges, Polly Apfelbaum, and other artists-in-residence at Dieu Donné as inspiration. Participants experiment with the effects of cut shapes, collage, and stenciling.
Workshop is free, but limited to 25 people. Each workshop runs for 75 to 90 minutes. Reserve free tickets online. Please sign up for only one session per person.
