Artist Elaine Reichek leads a tour through the exhibition Henri Matisse: The Cut-Outs and discusses the “inspiration wall” she created for MoMA Studio, which traces the migration of Matisse’s cut-outs through both fine art and popular culture. The tour and discussion lead to the workshop component of this program: a hands-on activity in which Reichek invites participants to take inspiration from what they have seen and create their own cut-out compositions with vibrant swatches of fabric and felt.
Workshop is free, but limited to 25 people. Each workshop runs for 75 to 90 minutes. Reserve free tickets online. Please sign up for only one session per person.

These experiences complement looking and talking about works of art in the galleries, allowing for engagement with art in participatory, creative ways. Visitors can experiment, play, and create as they make connections between their lives, their own creativity, and the processes and materials of modern and contemporary art. Learn more
