At 2 p.m., a conversation with curators Richard Birkett of Institute of Contemporary Art, London and Jocelyn Miller, Assistant Curator, MoMA PS1 will celebrate the opening of the exhibition Julie Becker: I must create a Master Piece to pay the Rent.
At 3 p.m., MoMA PS1 Chief Curator Peter Eleey speaks with artist Devin Kenny on the occasion of his first solo museum exhibition Devin Kenny: rootkits rootwork. Additionally at 3 p.m., a gallery talk with Hock E Aye Vi Edgar Heap of Birds offers a closer look at his exhibition Surviving Active Shooter Custer.
At 4 p.m., artists Allison Janae Hamilton, Tschabalala Self, and Sable Elyse Smith discuss their work with Legacy Russell, Associate Curator, Exhibitions, the Studio Museum, and Hallie Ringle, former Assistant Curator, the Studio Museum (now Hugh Kaul Curator of Contemporary Art at the Birmingham Museum of Art). This conversation marks the opening of MOOD: Studio Museum Artists in Residence 2018-19, held at MoMA PS1 while the Studio Museum constructs its new home on West 125th Street.
