Clara Ianni (b. 1987, São Paulo, Brazil) is an artist, writer, and curator whose work explores topics ranging from the complex origins of modernist art and architecture to Brazilian avant-garde theater during the years of the military dictatorship and contemporary crowd control tactics deployed by the police. Across a range of mediums, including video, objects, installations, and actions, Ianni creates situations in which the weight of history is brought to bear on the present. For this program, Ianni presents a selection of her recent moving-image projects and takes part in a conversation about her work.
