Cat Chaser. 1989. USA. Directed by Abel Ferrara. DCP. 180 min.
Based on a promising Elmore Leonard script involving a damaged ex-soldier, drug smugglers, an exiled Dominican general, and a double-dealing cop, the film’s troubled production was capped by a heavily edited studio release that Ferrara disowns. Restoring the intended version of the film’s twisted plot, this program features a video copy of the director’s cut. Courtesy of Abel Ferrara and Anthology Film Archives
