With WWII in full swing, American Harry Morgan’s sport-fishing and boat-transport business on the island of Martinique has been lackluster. With Martinique under French control, Morgan tries to be politically neutral—especially now that the Germans have invaded France. But, desperate for cash, Morgan reluctantly agrees to transport a resistance fighter on the run from the Nazis.

This film accompanies Modern Matinees: B Is for Bacall.
