Lieutenant McAllister’s mission is to move a convoy of munitions wagons from one fort to another, traversing hostile Apache lands. With a depleted cadre of soldiers, only the newbies are left to act as guards along the way, and they aren’t much good at holding back any aggressors. The party includes a seasoned scout named Remsberg who is looking for a white woman who has been captured by the Apache—but once she’s released, she voluntarily returns to the tribe.
