What does the invention of the first motion-capturing camera have to do with paintings by Italian Futurists? In this session we will consider the advancements and inventions that were being made in the field of photography at the end of the 19th and early 20th centuries, and explore their effect on modern painting.

This session is led by Jane Royal.

Join us for lively conversations and engaging activities, facilitated by Museum educators, that offer insightful and unusual ways to engage with MoMA’s collection and special exhibitions.

Gallery Sessions are free for members and Museum admission ticket holders. No registration is required. Groups meet in the Marron Atrium, Floor 2.
