In what would make a great double bill with the Dino Risi-Alberto Sordi comedy The Widower (1959), Ugo Tognazzi plays a man of utter mediocrity and pretense, a middle-aged tax inspector who insinuates himself into the home of the rich (and sexually overheated) Tettamanzi sisters by marrying one while secretly sleeping with the others.
