The Young in Heart. 1938. USA. Directed by Richard Wallace. Screenplay by Paul Osborn, based on the novel by I. A. R. Wylie. With Janet Gaynor, Douglas Fairbanks Jr., Roland Young. 35mm. 90 min.

The Carletons are a lovely family of grifters who ingratiate themselves to wealthy marks and mooch until they’ve drained the coffers. When their racket is uncovered, the police run them out of Monte Carlo. While lamenting their lot at the train station, they meet a sweet elderly lady named Miss Fortune and end up saving her life. She takes the Carletons in, blissfully unaware of their plan to amend her will.
