With an assassination plot afoot, Charles II’s advisor counsels him to return from exile to England, but instead the king detours to the farm of a lovely young maiden. An actor impersonates Charles, allowing him to escape harm. When he eventually returns to his homeland, Charles must say goodbye to his beloved farm maiden. The Exile was the inaugural film for The Fairbanks Company, Inc.
