Brothers Jack and Tom Ingleside are in London in 1914, just before shipping off to war. On a foggy night, Jack meets a mysterious woman who seems to know him. He gets her phone number but makes a mistake in writing it down. When Jack and Tom go home to visit their mother, they happen to run into the mystery woman—and she turns out to be Molly, a childhood friend that Tom has always loved. Heartbroken, Jack steps aside to give Tom a chance at happiness.
