Nifty Miller, a successful carnival barker, wants his son Chris to go to law school instead of following in the family business. During a break from school, Chris works the carnival and falls in love with Carrie, an exotic dancer. When Nifty breaks up the lovers, Carrie exacts revenge by paying a colleague, Lou, to come on to the naïve Chris. Nifty, convinced his son is wasting an opportunity to better himself, is despondent. But it turns out Lou has truly fallen for Chris, and she encourages him to go back to school.
