After being discovered with another girl in the backseat of a car on prom night, Cameron Post (Chloë Grace Moretz) is promptly sent to God’s Promise, a gay conversion therapy camp. Between tedious icebreaker activities, uncomfortable therapy sessions, and mandatory sermons, Cameron learns what it takes to withstand the days at God’s Promise, with the help of fellow reluctant campers Jane (Sasha Lane) and Adam (Forrest Goodluck). Akhavan’s second feature film, The Miseducation of Cameron Post cements her status as a director to watch, as she gracefully tells a true story of the journey to become comfortable in one’s own skin while learning to accept others for who they are.
