Talented illustrator Laura Hunt screws up the courage to ask newspaper columnist Waldo Liedecker to say something positive about the ad she designed that’s running in his paper. But before he can do so, Laura is found dead in her apartment. Detective Mark McPherson is put on the case, and during the course of his investigation he falls in love with the victim.

This film accompanies Modern Matinees: Vincent Price.
