Troubled World War II veteran Ralph Meeker believes he has found relief from his inner demons by traveling the world with his new wife (Janice Rule) and pursuing his passion to paint. But during a stay in Acapulco, one of his models turns up dead, and the suspicions of the local police chief (Paul Henreid, also directing) soon focus on him.
