Clay Spencer is a decent man who loves and respects his wife Olivia and their nine children. They live on Spencer’s Mountain, in Wyoming, and it is Clay’s dream to build Olivia a grand house. Money is often short for the Spencers, and when it comes down to a dream home or sending eldest son Clayboy to college, tough decisions must be made. Earl Hamner, Jr.’s book was later adapted for the long-running television series The Waltons.
