Ex-soldier Tom Jeffords spent years in the military fighting the Apaches, but when he saves the life of an Apache child, it dawns on him that we’re all human. It becomes Jeffords’s mission to find common ground with the Apache leader Cochise. Screenwriter Albert Maltz was a Blacklist writer whose work was fronted by Michael Blankfort, who went on to be president of the Writers Guild of America (West) from 1967 to 1969.
