Famed Club 57 emcee Drew Straub leads a lively one-man show exploring the scene-defining days of late-1970s New York. This multimedia presentation takes its inspiration from Club 57's unique environment—which Straub helped to shape—where the flow between art and life was easy and fun reigned supreme. After studying fine arts at Kutztown University alongside Keith Haring, he discovered the scene through Downtown nightlife and the Nova Convention's celebration of Beat poetry. This event features re-creations of impermanent, concept-driven works presented at Club 57, P.S.1, and in gallery settings. Together with a special playlist by Club 57 DJ Dany Johnston and period performance videos, Straub channels the dual energy and ephemerality of the Downtown scene.
