World premiere

Nearly a billion people worldwide live with the debilitating impact of migraine, a neurological disease which produces effects far more devastating than a severe headache. Its sufferers come from all walks of life, from infants and veterans to Sigmund Freud and Joan Didion. Featuring doctors, neuroscientists, activists, and patients, Out of My Head blends animation, art, and filmed footage to explore migraine, its bizarre symptomology, and the seldom-recognized toll it takes on daily life.

This film accompanies Doc Fortnight 2018: MoMA’s International Festival of Nonfiction Film and Media.
