Why were Dada and Surrealist artists so intrigued by the unconscious? We’ll focus specifically on the various techniques Max Ernst used to explore the idea of the "irrational" in the wake of WWI. Participants are invited to experiment with frottage (rubbing), one of Ernst's unusual drawing methods.
