Inner Space features multi-media work by contemporary filmmakers and performers. The program looks to the of the unique character of the geodesic dome in which it occurs and considers the space’s mutable and malleable relationship to the bodies within it.
Artist and stand up comedian, Casey Jane Ellison is your host and guide for Casey Jane Ellison Presents Aboveground Animation, her curated series of animated short films.
The program features the New York premieres of animations by Kathleen Daniel, Barry Doupe, Erin Dunn, Lauren Gregory, Jacolby Satterwhite, Katie Torn, and an excerpt from one of Fitch-Trecartin’s latest videos with animations by Rhett LaRue.
The screenings are accompanied by DJ sets by artists Cody Critcheloe (SSION) and by Juliana Huxtable .

Leigha Mason has presented her films and paintings at MoMA PS1, The Andy Warhol Museum, ICA London, as well as several film festivals and galleries across the US and internationally.

With a focus on artists that blur and break traditional genre boundaries, VW Sunday Sessions embraces the communities in New York City that create and sustain artistic practice.
Since 2012, VW Sunday Sessions has presented a commissioning program resulting in new work by Trajal Harrell, Mårten Spångberg, Anne Imhof, Tobias Madison and Matthew Lutz Kinoy, Hannah Black, and Colin Self. Additionally, the VW Dome Artist Residency offers a platform for creative development and experimentation for artists at all stages of the creative process.
