The popular comedy team of Jiří Voskovec and Jan Werich were childhood friends who worked their way through law school performing satirical sketches—so successfully that they left the law and founded their own experimental theater troupe, appearing in a series of five films before the German occupation drove them into exile in the US. This is their second movie, a freeform absurdist farce that finds the team contending with jewel thieves and stuffy relatives. 16mm.

This film accompanies Ecstasy and Irony: Czech Cinema, 1927–1943.
