With Cary Grant, Jean Arthur, Ronald Colman, Edgar Buchanan. Nora Shelley’s rooming house has a pair of borders: the brilliant Professor Lightcap, who will spend the summer writing a book; and Joseph, the property’s gardener, who is convalescing from an ankle injury. In actuality, Joseph is an escaped convict and longtime friend of Nora’s, and their complicated triangle is made all the more surprising by Leopold’s actions.
