With Cary Grant, Katharine Hepburn, James Stewart, Ruth Hussey. Main Line Philadelphia society folks Tracy Lord and C. K. Dexter Haven married impulsively and divorced just as passionately. Tracy is now about to marry good guy Macaulay Connor when Dexter shows up, but this time he is spying for a tabloid to get the scoop on the marriage of the year! The screenplay is especially strong, though film lore holds that some uncontrollable ad libbing went on as well.

This film accompanies Modern Matinees: Mr. Cary Grant.
