With Cary Grant, Carole Lombard, Kay Francis, Charles Coburn. Locked in a miserable marriage, wealthy Alec Walker meets the widowed single mother Julie Eden while out for a ride in the countryside. Alec and Julie soon fall in love, and when Alec’s wife gets a whiff of the affair, she makes sure that the elder Walkers—who control the inheritance—choose her over Julie. Grant makes juggling too many women look graceful in this witty triangle.
