As the Nazis encroached upon Paris in 1940, dozens of Surrealists left Europe for New York, bringing radical ideas about the subconscious and automatic painting with them. Join us to see how this migration eventually gave rise to Jackson Pollock’s innovative drip paintings and Mark Rothko’s brilliant fields of color.
