Join us at MoMA Studio: Breathe with Me to participate in the activation of contemporary artists' projects and explore Lygia Clark's sensorial objects, including Caminhando (Walking) (1963), Pedra e ar (Stone and air) (1966), Agua e conchas (Water and shells) (1970), Estruturas vivas (Living structures) (1969), Rede de elasticos (Elastic net) (1974), and Respire comigo (Breathe with me) (1966). Come see how a Moebius strip can be transformed with a pair of scissors, watch a net of rubber bands expand through movement, and twist and connect your body in unexpected positions like an octopus, and more.
Studios are free, interactive spaces offering drop-in programs and artist- and educator-led workshops to visitors of all ages in conjunction with an exhibition or a topic related to modern and contemporary art. These experiences complement looking and talking about works of art in the galleries, allowing for engagement with art in participatory, creative ways. Visitors can experiment, play, and create as they make connections between their lives, their own creativity, and the processes and materials of modern and contemporary art. Learn more
