The President’s Analyst. 1967. USA. Written and directed by Theodore J. Flicker. With James Coburn, Godfrey Cambridge, Will Geer. 103 min.
Psychiatrist Dr. Sidney Schaefer has a new patient: none other than the President of the United States. The good doctor managed to survive the covert vetting by the Central Enquiries Agency, who placed agent Don Masters undercover to investigate his analytic practices, and now Schaefer have a Georgetown house with a secret tunnel straight to the White House. With its Cold War humor and psychedelic interludes, The President’s Analyst is a bit of a 1960s time capsule.
