Perhaps one of the most astonishing cinematic retakes of Macbeth, Maqbool comes off like a mash-up of the Bard and The Godfather. Bhardwaj takes traditional courtly characters and transforms them into corrupt policemen, ruthless gang members, and a terrifically accurate astrologer, all with distinctive Bollywood glitz.
