American Harry Morgan lives on the island of Martinique. With WWII in full swing, his sport fishing and boat-transport business has been lackluster. With Martinique under French control, Morgan tries to be politically neutral—especially now that the Germans have invaded France. But desperate for cash, Morgan reluctantly agrees to transport a resistance fighter on the run from the Nazis.
