Join us for a special Q&A with pioneering lighting designer Joshua White, whose psychedelic light shows of the 1960s gave rise to collaborations with the most influential rock musicians of the era. Currently on view in From the Collection: 1960–1969, the work of the Joshua Light Show features spectacular performances of color and light, an experiment that began at the Fillmore East in the Lower East Side of New York City in 1967. From Woodstock to Carnegie Hall, The Joshua Light Show enjoyed pride of place on the marquee next to Jimi Hendrix, Jefferson Airplane, Janis Joplin, the Who, and the Grateful Dead. White, who continues to innovate with artists such as Laurie Anderson, Gary Panter, and Michael Smith, joins us for an informal conversation about his life and work.
