Five rich American girls on a Mediterranean vacation aboard the yacht Rosebud are held captive by members of the Palestinian Liberation Organization. The terrorists demand that their film footage of the kidnapping be shown on American and European television. Peter O’Toole is the British-born CIA operative sent in to resolve the situation. The screenplay was written by Preminger’s son, Erik, whose mother was the American burlesque star Gypsy Rose Lee.
