Living It Up. 1954. USA. Directed by Norman Taurog. 95 min.
Screenplay by Ben Hecht, Jack Rose, Melville Shavelson, James H. Street. With Dean Martin, Jerry Lewis, Janet Leigh, Edward Arnold. An Atomic Age remake of Nothing Sacred with Lewis in the Carole Lombard role, here transformed into a young man from New Mexico who believes he’s acquired radiation poisoning after an accidental visit to the Los Alamos nuclear testing site. Martin is the small-town doctor who plays along; Fredric March has, happily, become Janet Leigh as a New York newspaper reporter who grants Lewis's wish to visit the Big Apple. The film’s most winning moment is an exhilarating jitterbug dance with Lewis and an unbilled Sheree North.
