Three for the Show. 1955. USA. Directed by H. C. Potter. 93 min.
Screenplay by Edward Hope, Leonard Stern. Dances by Jack Cole, Gower Champion. With Betty Grable, Marge Champion, Gower Champion, Jack Lemmon. A beautifully costumed Harlequinade sequence (a Cole thematic favorite) set to the William Tell Overture for the Champions, a dream ballet set to "Swan Lake," and Grable shaking her groove thing in "How Come You Do Me like You Do?" (a much improved version of Cole’s "Heat Wave" for Monroe) brighten this folie-à-quatre comedy from Columbia Pictures. Male lead Gower Champion choreographs a witty slapstick dance number as well as a lyrical sequence for himself and his wife, Marge.
