With Judi Dench, Cate Blanchett, Andrew Simpson. Blanchett earned an Academy Award nomination for her turn as a school teacher who has an affair with an adolescent pupil. Her scenes opposite a devious, manipulative colleague, played by Judi Dench (who was also nominated for an Oscar for her work), are the highlight of this film from noted British television director David Eyre.
