With Cate Blanchett, Alec Baldwin, Peter Sarsgaard. Jasmine French is ubiquitous on the New York City social scene, until her husband Hal does some funny business with fund management. Once he wipes out their fortune—and the savings of hundreds of others who trusted his heretofore undisputed business acumen, a broke and broken Jasmine heads to San Francisco hoping her sister Ginger will take her in. Blanchett’s brittle, deluded Jasmine earned her a richly deserved Academy Award for Best Actress.
