Make art. Meet people. Eat snacks. Explore ideas. Be yourself.
Come hang out at Open Art Space—a free weekly after-school program for high school students to create, explore, and connect with other creative teens. OAS is a space where all teens can feel safe, supported, and free to be themselves.
Join us on Thursday, November 12 for an evening of dreaming up and building new possibilities for your community. Inspired by Architects of Liberation: Modernism in Western Africa, an exhibition exploring how architecture can support communities and move culture forward, you’ll dream up and design your own vision for a place you’d want to see in your community. What should your neighborhood have? A skate park? A community center? A totally unexpected building? Sketch out your idea, experiment with materials, and turn it into a miniature structure.
OAS meets on Thursdays from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at MoMA’s Lewis B. and Dorothy Cullman Education and Research Building, located at 4 West 54th Street, near Fifth Avenue.
RSVP encouraged. Walk-ins welcome. This program is free and open to all high school–age participants. No previous art-making experience is necessary. Snacks, OMNY cards, and supplies will be provided.
