Join us for an evening of art, movement, music, and collective expression inspired by Taking Back Our Space: Photographic Perspectives.
Experience the Museum transformed through live performances, poetry, sound, movement, exhibitions, and collective art-making, with artists guiding audiences through unexpected encounters and shared experiences. Inspired by Black, queer, and 21st-century feminist perspectives, the evening explores what it means to reclaim space—physical, cultural, historical, and personal.
Come move, make, listen, and take up space with us as we celebrate artists, community, and the transformative energy of creative collaboration. The night culminates with a DJ set, inviting everyone to stay, connect, and experience MoMA in a whole new way. Artist-led events include a performance by K8 Hardy, a DJ set by Mui Mui, a dance performance by Amanda Krische, readings curated by the Whitney Review, and an immersive installation/art-making experience with Megumi Shauna Arai.
The exhibitions Full Disclosure: The Edge of Information Design, Nilima Sheikh: Fractured Skies, Taking Back Our Space: Photographic Perspectives, Architects of Liberation: Modernism in Western Africa, and The Surrealist Book: Tomorrow Lives in Mirrors will be open all evening. A pop-up bar will be open in the main lobby.
Advance ticket purchases are suggested. A limited number of walk-up tickets will be available.
