Open Art Space is a free weekly after-school program dedicated to creating a safe space for LGBTQ+ high school students and their allies to create, explore, and connect with other creative teens.

What lurks in MoMA after dark? Join us on Thursday, October 15 for a tour of the Museum’s spookiest artworks. Uncover unsettling stories hidden in the galleries, and see if you can spot any ghouls or mysterious figures along the way. Then, collaborate with other teens to create a giant exquisite corpse drawing inspired by the strange, surreal, and spooky art you’ve discovered.

Open Art Space meets on Thursdays from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at MoMA’s Lewis B. and Dorothy Cullman Education and Research Building, located at 4 West 54th Street, near Fifth Avenue.

RSVP encouraged. Walk-ins welcome. This program is free and open to all high school–age participants. No previous art-making experience is necessary. Snacks, OMNY cards, and supplies will be provided.

The Lewis B. and Dorothy Cullman Education and Research Building entrance has a power-assist door.

Seating options include chairs with backs. Gallery stools, wheelchairs, and rollators are available by request at all Museum entrances, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Guide dogs and other trained service animals are always welcome.
