A trio of models living in New York (Marilyn Monroe, Betty Grable, Lauren Bacall) are self-described gold diggers on the hunt for millionaire husbands, but they can’t tell the heroes from the heels. Definitely more intelligent than the men they are chasing, these women on a mission can’t afford to be sidetracked by actually falling in love…or can they? In another memorable CinemaScope production, Marilyn Monroe steals the show by playing her “dumb-blonde” persona to full comedic effect, helping make How to Marry a Millionaire one of 20th Century Fox’s biggest box-office successes of the 1950s.
