Cover-Up. 2025. USA. Directed by Laura Poitras, Mark Obenhaus. With Seymour Hersh. DCP courtesy Netflix. In English, Vietnamese, Arabic; English subtitles. 117 min.
Legendary investigative journalist Seymour Hersh has been uncovering nefarious activities at the highest levels of the US government since the late 1960s. From the so-called My Lai Massacre in Vietnam to torture at Abu Ghraib, he has been an essential counterweight to the unchecked state. Award-winning filmmakers Laura Poitras and Mark Obenhaus have taken a keen interest in the activists, journalists, and artists who agitate on our behalf, and in Hersh they encounter a subject both worthy of their attention and wary of their scrutiny. Cover-Up is a fascinating look at history and how it is written.
