Please join us for a series of films that use comedy to engage and endear audiences. Each screening will be followed by an opportunity for conversation with a special guest. This screening features a pair of silent films with musical accompaniment.
The Tramp. 1915. USA. Written and directed by Charles Chaplin. 28 min.
The Tramp follows the adventures of Chaplin’s childlike, fun-loving, mischievous alter ego, who encounters humorous situations while seeking refuge on a farm.
Sherlock Jr. 1924. USA. Directed by Buster Keaton. 45 min.
Sherlock Jr follows a meek film projectionist who yearns to be a detective like Sherlock Holmes. When he is wrongly accused of stealing his girlfriend’s father’s pocket watch, he dreams of using his investigative skills, navigating a series of comedic and fantastical situations to solve the crime.
Registration is now open for our January 8 program. Space is limited, and advance registration is required.

The Ronald S. and Jo Carole Lauder Building entrance has a power-assist door.
Seating options include chairs with backs and armrests. Gallery stools, wheelchairs, and rollators are available by request at all Museum entrances, on a first-come first-served basis.
Accessible and all-gender restrooms are located in the lobby.
Guide dogs and other trained service animals are always welcome.
American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation and live captioning (CART) are available for public programs upon request with two weeks’ advance notice. MoMA will make every effort to provide accommodation for requests made with less than two weeks’ notice. Please contact [email protected] to make a request for these services.
In order to serve visitors with hearing loss, Titus Theater has induction hearing loops for sound amplification. During scheduled programs, visitors can turn their hearing aid or cochlear implant to T-coil mode to hear enhanced sound effortlessly. The loop system does not work with hearing aids without telecoil technology.
