Introduction
David Plowden (born October 9, 1932), is an American photographer who has made historical documentary photography of urban cities, steam trains, American farmlands, and small towns. Plowden has produced 20 books and his work is held in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian Institution and the Library of Congress. He was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1968.
