Members of the MoMA community have a broad range of backgrounds, interests, and professional knowledge, but we all believe that art makes a difference in our lives and in the world. Our mission—to share great modern and contemporary art with the public—brings together people with expertise in many areas. We preserve, study, and build the Museum’s collection; take care of our visitors; design and construct exhibitions; lead art-making and educational programs; and so much more. Working at MoMA connects us to the history not just of this institution, but of New York City and beyond, and to the artists and art lovers who, for 90 years, have come here for inspiration.

Through jointly curated initiatives like Greater New York, the Elaine Dannheisser Projects Series, and the Young Architects Program; a shared website, and dozens of individually produced exhibitions and programs, The Museum of Modern Art and MoMA PS1 present a dynamic and varied offering of some of the most thought-provoking art produced today, together forming MoMA’s leading program of contemporary art. While each institution has its own mission statement, we work together on a daily basis, share curatorial perspectives and information, and have a common goal to provide the most engaging and incisive program possible.
