Neumann (1887-1961), Berlin, October 1919 [3]; acquired by Dora Benjamin as a birthday gift for Walter Benjamin (1892-1940), Berlin, 1920 [4]. [Possibly J.B. Neumann, New York, by 1937] [5]. Acquired by Allan (1906-1975) and Beatrice Roos, New York and San Francisco, by October 1940 [6]; given to The Museum of Modern Art, New York, 1962.
