This weekend at MoMA PS1, the Warm Up series is pleased to welcome Lisbon-based Producer/DJ Branko to the booth for a globe-trotting set of heavy rhythms. As a founding member of the influential kuduro group, Buraka Som Sistema, and head of the groundbreaking label Enchufada, his DJ sets are not to be missed.
We are also pleased to present an array of talented opening acts, including up-and-coming Oakland rapper Kamaiyah, “tropical punk” from Washington Heights’ own Maluca Mala, experimental club tracks from NAAFI mainstay IMAABS, and dystopian dancehall from London’s Endgame.
In order of appearance this Saturday July 23:
Endgame / Bala Club + PTP + Hyperdub / London, UK
IMAABS / N.A.A.F.I / Santiago, Chile
Maluca Mala (LIVE) / New York, NY
Kamaiyah (LIVE) / Oakland, CA
Branko (LIVE) / Enchufada + RBMA / Lisbon, Portugal
Doors open at noon, with performances running from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Be sure to browse the full summer schedule and buy tickets here before they sell out!
In case you missed last week’s show, Clams Casino captivated the crowd with his signature atmospheric blend of hazy textures and distorted beats. He was preceded by standout performances from experimental songstress Eartheater, Australian DJ Nina Las Vegas, rising grime MC AJ Tracey, and an energetic set from instrumental grime duo DBM (Deadboy + Murlo).
