As we head into the Christmas week, take note of special holiday hours at MoMA. The Museum will close at 3:00 p.m. on December 24 and we’re closed all day on December 25, but we open early, at 9:30 a.m., December 26 through January 3. Happy holidays!

• Today, take a free Gallery Sessions tour and learn to see a Jackson Pollock like…Jackson Pollock. Participants will simulate the artist’s working experience in an attempt to understand his revolutionary technique.
• Drop by the exhibition Making Music Modern: Design for Ear and Eye on Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. for Stratocaster Sessions, when a MoMA staff member will play a recently acquired 1957 Fender Stratocaster guitar and 1959 Bassman amp live in the gallery.

• Celebrate the Department of Film’s 80th anniversary with a selection of films donated to the Museum in the 1940s by the major film studios. As part of Modern Matinees: The Film Library Grows, catch a screening of The Jazz Singer—the first feature-length motion picture with synchronized dialogue and songs—on Wednesday afternoon.
